Fitted sheets with elastic corners are a nightmare to fold. Most people just give up and ball them up into a wrinkled mess, taking up half the space in the closet. But folding them perfectly is actually incredibly simple once you know the secret: the corners-inside-corners technique.

1. Corners Together
Hold the sheet by two adjacent corners, turning them inside out. Tuck one corner pocket into the other (one hand inside the other). Repeat this on the other side. Now you have a sheet that is held together by all four corners tucked into one another.
2. Shake and Shape
Hold the sheet by the two “tucked” corners and give it a shake. You now have a neat, U-shaped piece of fabric.
3. Lay Flat
Lay the sheet flat on a bed or table. The rounded, elastic edges should be pointing inward, creating a neat rectangle shape.
4. The Final Fold
