The Anatomy of Rain
Deep Sadness (சோகம்) — English
It doesn’t hit you like a sudden, thunderous storm,
Or leave a physical wreckage that is clear in its form.
It’s just the quiet, progressive draining of the internal light,
A steady, cold creeping of the heavy, dark night.
You learn to wear a plastic smile to play your social part,
To shield the deep, freezing winter of a broken heart.
Hoping the long shadows on the completely empty wall
Won’t notice that you have no strength left to fall.
