Shadows of Want
Deep Desires (ஆசை) — English
We buy the heavy, expensive trinkets of the modern town,
To weigh our shifting, restless, empty spirits down.
But all the lonely heart desires in the very end,
Is the simple, silent presence of a trusted, unmasked friend.
A quiet porch, a warm cup of steaming, dark tea,
A stretch of hours completely wild, unrecorded, and free.
Before the cold winter takes our transient, fading breath,
And locks our simple hungers into the silence of death.
