Focus is a habit, and rituals are the best way to trigger that habit. Just as an athlete warms up before a race, a child needs a “warm-up” before they study.
1. The “Environment Shift” Always keep the study area clean and separate from the “play” area.
2. The Lighting Trigger Turn on a specific desk lamp only when it is study time. After a few weeks, the brain will associate that light with deep focus.
3. The 5-Minute Brain Dump Before studying, have them write down their current thoughts on a scratchpad. This clears their “mental RAM” so they can focus on the lesson.
