The Sovereign Hearth

Mother’s Grace (அம்மா) — English

You did not teach me how to fear the cold,
Or bend my spine for lines of borrowed gold.
You stood against the winter of the years,
And washed my heavy doubts with silent tears.
If there is any light inside my hand,
Or any strength to make a lonely stand,
It is the echo of your steady stride,
The quiet iron that you built inside.
