- 100g smoked salmon
- ½ small red onion, very thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp capers
- Fresh dill
- Lemon wedge
- Black pepper

- Step 1 — Slice and toast the bagels until golden.
- Step 2 — Spread each half generously with cream cheese — more than you think.
- Step 3 — Layer smoked salmon on the bottom half.
- Step 4 — Add thin red onion slices and capers.
- Step 5 — Finish with dill and a crack of black pepper.
- Step 6 — Squeeze lemon over the salmon.
- Step 7 — Press the top half down.
Kitchen Tip: Slice the red onion as thin as possible — thin enough to be translucent. A mandoline is useful here.
