Daylight in the Soul
Pure Happiness (மகிழ்ச்சி) — English
It isn’t found in heavy gold or grand applause,
Nor in the perfect, suffocating web of laws.
It’s the smell of rain upon the dry, dusty street,
The cool, wet grass underneath your bare feet.
A sudden, unprompted laugh that shakes your chest,
Remembering, after all, that your spirit is blest.
The quiet warmth of simply being alive right here,
When all the ghosts of yesterday finally disappear.
