Your laptop keyboard is a magnet for crumbs, dust, and oils. Cleaning it incorrectly can force debris deeper or damage the delicate key switches.
1. Shut down and Unplug Always turn off your laptop and disconnect the power.
2. The Shake and Brush Turn the laptop upside down and give it a gentle shake. Use a soft-bristled brush (a clean makeup brush works perfectly) to sweep between the keys.
3. Compressed Air If you have it, use a can of compressed air at an angle to blow out remaining dust. Never blow directly into the keys.
4. Wipe Use a microfiber cloth slightly dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Never spray liquid directly onto the keys—always spray the cloth first.
